Shih tzu' are considered good dogs for people with allergies to pets because most people are allergic to the dander that comes with fur.Shih tzu's don't have fur, they have hair.lol. They will shed a bit just like any other animal with hair. Shih Tzu are considered non-shedding because they don't loose hair like breeds we classify as 'shedders'. A Shih Tzu looses hair like people, one strand at a time. Of course, all animals, including people have to get rid of hair, dander(skin flakes), etc.at some point in their life, in order to regrow more hair, skin, etc... .Ask your doctor if you have any questions about owning a shih tzu and having allergies before purchasing any dog.
We are from Gibson in Terrebonne Parish in South Louisiana raising shih tzu's inside our home as our pets.We have standards and small sizes.Some of our dogs come from champion bloodlines including two past Westminster dog show winners in the lines and numerous champions. Our dogs all carry the blue gene .We have Rare Exotic Colors- blue,solid white, silver and white,and liver shih tzu's ,some of my dogs have blue and green eyes.We also have light colors like gold and white, brindles, and dark colors like Red & white & Black & white's .
